Classic Film Friday

29 Jun

Today’s video choice is not a “classic”, but rather an upcoming movie event. I just booked to attend the Batman Trilogy Movie Marathon at Palace Barracks on 18th July. Details can be found here. I’m so excited to see Christopher Nolan’s epic films all in a row with a few select eager friends. Cannot wait. I have taken the day after off work in readiness for the tiredness I will be struggling with I’m sure. Check out the preview for The Dark Knight Rises:

You complete me!

I love this quote from Amy Poehler:

“Only hang around people that are positive and make you feel good. Anybody who doesn’t make you feel good, kick them to the curb, and the earlier you start in your life the better. The minute anybody makes you feel weird and non included or not supported, you know, either beat it or tell them to beat it.”

i think it’s a great mantra for life. Last weekend I got to catch up in Sydney with one of my bestest friends ever. Ever since we got super close circa 1998 we have been tight. We’ve never lived in the same town or city and have at times been separated by large expanses of water. Despite this when we meet back after time apart it’s as if nothing has changed. We just pick up where we left off. I think that’s the epitome of GREAT friends!

Today’s the day!

Back in a post in October of last year I talked about my good friend M and how she was returning to Australia late 2011. That date has been and gone and M and her husband D made the trek with their belongings across from California. They have been here for about six months now and today is the day I fly down to Sydney to spend the weekend with them. I’M SO FLIPPING EXCITED!!! I’ve been waking up early and finding it hard to go back to sleep with the wrestling of butterflies in my stomach. M informed this week that we haven’t seen each other in three years. It’s pretty epic. We’ve been friends for years and never lived in the same city/town. After being separated by a huge expanse of water, the short distance by plane between Brisbane and Sydney seemsĀ minuscule. The weekend coming has had some planning – I can forsee a lot of screams of excitement, food and plenty of big fat chats. Eeeeeeeeee! See you on the flip-side!
